Using natural light I have fun during family photography sessions outside. Family photoshoots are those that capture kids being kids and families being families, doing normal everyday things, like going for a walk, being silly together, or going to the park.
If it’s that time of year or not, We all think about family photos or holiday cards! I’m all about making sure the personalities of each person are capture and come through in every photo. Families are like fingerprints. Every single one is unique. Catch your story and your personalities of each person in every photo

1) You want to book!
Once I receive your inquiry, I will email you back to set ups a date to get your
session booked. Once you finalize your
session and confirm your booking I will send over a contract and family questionnaire. The family questionnaire is so I can get some general information about you and your family. I love to get to know who you are right away! This will be sent out right after I get you in the books
2) Let the fun begin!
This is when you can start thinking of what outfits to wear, props, and other fun things. Don’t worry if you can’t come up with what to wear. Pinterest is always a good place to start or feel free to ask me! I am always willing to help! When it gets closer to your session, I will then send you a location questionnaire of locations to pick from or if you have a location in mind. you can let me know. I love finding new locations and trying new this. The only thing I ask for is that make sure your location you have in mind that is not on the list I send you it has some shad. Photographers love shad.
3)Yay! Things are getting closer!
This is when I will send your final invoice in email and other final details will be discussed via a text messaging or email (usually 1 week prior and a couple day before). The reason for this is to help clarify date, time, maybe some things you put into your questionnaires or if you have any other questions that came up but forgot to ask.
Oh, and I also will be keeping my eye on the weather and keep you posted on it.

4)The big day is finally here!!
I will text and make sure we are still on, and nothing came up. My goal is to have this day easy-going and fun! I want you and your family to feeling comfortable as possible like we have been friends for a long time. Don’t worry, I will pose you (aka I will module the poses to do) and help guide you through the entire session. I will be there to capture who YOU are and to create some fun memories to look back on.
5) Delivery day!!
You will see a social media sneak peek of your session within 1 week of your session. 3-4 weeks after your session you will get your online gallery to view. I will also text or message you on FB, on the phone, or wherever you found me that I have sent you your gallery just to make sure you are keeping your eyes open for it. I don't want you to just look past it and delete it. The best part is you then have time to purchase any prints through your online gallery, so you don’t have to leave your house. It gets shipped right to you. Also don’t worry I am still here if you need help with anything.

What kind of photo combinations do you do?
I work with you. It’s all about your family. Think about what kind of photo combinations you might want. What is important to you? Each child individually? Each child with individual parents? More whole family photos? You will get a questionnaire to help me out with what you want after you book with me.
Do you only do family session in the summer and fall?
No! I do family sessions year-round if you are willing, I am willing to do sessions in the winter and spring (temp and weather permitted)
What do you suggest for wardrobe?
Plan out your wardrobe in advance. Planning the night before could be dangerous. This part can be so incredibly stressful for some. Hop on Pinterest or on other photographers’ websites and see how families have dressed. I wouldn’t recommend being too matchy-matchy (unless you want to dress your kiddos the same…I am guilty of this and it’s so cute!). Select complimentary patterns, colors, or even different shades of the same color. Don’t overthink it too much! The focus is on your faces.
Mom tip: find an outfit you love on yourself first and then plan the rest of the family.
Can I bring food for the kids?
Yes!! Make sure everyone has a full stomach. Bribing your child with food is totally okay at a photo shoot! I just don’t recommend you pull them out immediately otherwise little johnny will want fruit snacks in his mouth for every picture. Most of the photo sessions I have done, I have parents bribing for ice cream after the session is done or giving them goldfish or fruit
Snacks along the way. It is totally okay to do!!
Hours of operation?
I also work in the medical field during the day Monday throw Friday. The best time to do session is during the golden hour 1-2 hours before the sunset or sunrise.
Do you have a studio?
No, I only do family sessions outside as of right now. I am willing to do house calls if you like to have them done at your home or I am willing to do session session year-round as the weather lets us.
What kind of location do you do?
For family I always love doing the photo sessions outside. I have several locations, but I am also opened to place the client would like. I always tell my clients that the most important thing when shooting is the lighting. Good light is so important to get the photos you will want. When my clients are suggesting a place, I let them know to look for shade spots, or open shade. I

How do you handle little kids at the session?
Your kids are just kids! They are not professional models who are going to do exactly what you want. It’s the truth! I have taken pictures of our own kids and some days it seems like they are the worst at getting their picture taken. They don’t know any better! Meltdowns may happen. Embrace the craziness and make the best of your session. There is always time to take a quick break while we do break out pictures if I have a crabby little one! No worries!
Time tip: the best tip for small children is to pick a time when they are in their best mood. For us, it’s usually in the morning. We will not say names, but one of our children is crazy after her nap! After naps is a no-go for us but it might work for you.
Can I bring my own props?
Yes! If there are any props (balloons, chairs, signs, etc.) You want to incorporate feel free to bring them. Think about that and start preparing those. Let me know about these ideas in advance so they can be prepared. I also will have blankets with for sitting on the ground.
Relax and have fun! Try not to get overwhelmed with the little ones looking at the camera or smiling when they are supposed to. Candid photos can be some of the best photos.
What is the cancellation policy?
Life happens, especially with little ones andI understand that rescheduling might happen. Sessions may be rescheduled, preferably 24 hours prior to the session time. Contact me to discuss options, I do my best to accommodate. There are no refunds offered on session fee. If you pay anything else after your session fee and must cancelled without reschedule the session fee is still not refundable but any additional payments will be returned if cancelled before 24 hours of session. There is also no rescheduling fee unless it happens more then 2 times there will be a fee of $100 added to your bill
